Sunken Garden United Football Club


The Sunken Garden United Football Club (SGU FC) was founded in April 17, 1997 by eight players -- Bobby Fresnido, Jun de la Rosa, Robson Estandarte, Wally Amar, Jose Abraham, Joey Milo, Luigi del Puerto and Tommy Morgan. The club is based at the Sunken Garden in the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City and holds regular practices and hosts matches every weekend.

Five years since its inception, SGU has joined various tournaments which include the San Miguel Football Tournament since 1998, the Laguna Cup since 1999, the Ateneo Venture Sports Tournament in January 2000, the PUP 7-A-Side Cup in March 2000, the Angelicum 5-A-Side in April 2000, the Ed Ocampo Cup in October 2000, the Ateneo 5-A-Side National Football Festival in March 2001, the Globe Super Cup in November 2001 and the Alaska Cup 5-A-Side Football Tournament in November 2001. SGU is currently ranked in the Third Division of the National Capital Region.
